(American, 1910-1981)

Born in Philadelphia, Hirsch studied at the Philadelphia College of Art and later with George Luks. He has taught painting at the Art Institute of Chicago, the National Academy of Design and the Art Student's League. He has also served as visiting artist at Dartmouth College. He did not venture into lithography until 1938.
