About
|
Since our founding in 1988, Stone & Press Gallery has offered an extensive inventory of original works on paper featuring the artists who celebrated, in etching, lithography and wood engraving, the American Scene in the first half of the 20th Century.
Today, those early works hang alongside contemporary mezzotints by modern masters working in this country and throughout the world. It is our emphasis on the mezzotint which has made us a focal point for artists and collectors alike. In this blending of the old with the new, we mirror our home in the historic French Quarter of the modern city of New Orleans. Stone and Press is one of only four galleries in the southern United States elected to membership in the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA). The IFPDA is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the highest ethical standards and quality. Election to membership requires a high level of expertise, ethics, and professional integrity, and takes into account years in business, the quality of art offered for sale, exhibitions, published catalogues, as well as community service. |
